Acer has launched the Aspire S3, codenamed Hummingbird, as its first model of a new product line of ultra-thin, ultra-light laptops. THE ASPIRE S3 is13-inch 'Ultrabook', designed to rival other ultra-thin laptops such as the Macbook Air or Samsung's Series 9.
The entry-level model comes with a second—generation Intel Core i3 processor and the more expensive model comes with a second-generation Intel Core i7 processor.
All models come with 4GB RAM and 128MB Intel HD dedicated graphics. Users can choose between a 320GB hard drive or a 240GB solid state drive (SSD).
While the Aspire S3 has HD capability, complete with an HDMI port, it only has two USB 2.0 ports — no USB 3.0 yet. It's also missing an Ethernet port, so users are limited to Wi-Fi unless they want to buy an extra adapter.
